Shuwei Xing is a PhD student in Biomedical Engineering at Robarts Research Institute, Western University. He started his program in 2020 and is currently co-supervised by Prof. Terry Peters and Prof. Aaron Fenster. In 2019, Shuwei obtained his Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering under the supervision of Prof. Guangzhi Wang, at Tsinghua University, China. And he received his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Northeast Electric Power University in 2016.

Shuwei Xing’s research topic is about 3D ultrasound-guided abdominal interventions, including liver tumor ablation and kidney tumor ablation. He mainly focuses on developing new techniques to perform multi-modality (3D ultrasound – CT/MRI) image registration and visualization.
