Claire Jackson is a Master’s student in the Biomedical Informatics program at Queen’s University. She is a member of the Laboratory for Percutaneous Surgery (PERK Lab). Her current research is focused on developing deep learning methods for real-time workflow recognition in open hernia repair videos to provide automated, objective feedback for surgical trainees. This project also aims to reduce the burden on expert observers and improve the learning process for medical trainees, and is directly supervised by Dr. Rebecca Hisey. Claire also completed a Bachelor of Health Sciences (Honours) at Queen’s University, specializing in the Anatomical and Physiological Basis of Health and Disease
