Ramtin received his BSc and MSc in electrical and computer engineering from the Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST) with summa cum laude distinction. During his MSc, he was the recipient of Iran’s National Elites Foundation (INEF) scholarship for his work on applying machine learning methods to explore novel cross-frequency connectivity inside primates and human brains. He was also the recipient of the 2021–2022 Queen’s SGPS international student scholarship award, which recognizes the best international graduate student who demonstrates academic excellence. Currently, he is doing his Ph.D. at Simpson Lab, focusing on developing supervised and semi-supervised deep learning methods, particularly for vision transformers on segmentation tasks. In his spare time, you can find him playing guitar and Santoor, exploring nature, swimming (competitive swimmer), and learning about different cultures and finance.
