Bining Long

Bining is an MSc student in Computing at Queen’s University. She works under the supervision of Professor Gabor Fichtinger as a member of the Laboratory for Percutaneous Surgery. Previously, she received her BCompScH (2024) with a concentration in AI and machine learning and a minor in Mathematics from Carleton University. Her primary research interests are in computer-assisted diagnosis and surgery, with a focus on machine learning approaches to improve clinical outcomes. Her current work involves using deep learning for automatic surgical skill assessment in cataract surgery through video analysis.
