My name is Joeana Cambranis Romero, I’m from Merida, Yucatan, Mexico. I finished my bachelor’s degree in Biomedical engineering in 2015 at Merida, Yucatan, Mexico. I was valedictorian of the class 2011-2015. I worked in a medical simulation center as a biomedical engineer for 4 years until I came to Canada to start my postgraduate studies. My master’s degree is in Biomedical Engineering, focusing on medical images and I graduated in 2022. I’m starting my Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, focusing on medical images. My ongoing research includes Ultrasound-guided surgical navigation systems for percutaneous liver tumour heat ablation and the development of phantoms.
